Savannah Amtrak Station
Savannah, Georgia, is home to an Amtrak station called Savannah Station. The first Savannah Union Station was demolished to make way for Interstate 16. Construction of this station began in 1962. You can find this station at 2611 Seaboard Coastline Drive, and it comprises a terminal building on the east side of the north-south lines, with a platform in the middle.
Amtrak's Silver services include business, excursion tour specials, and the occasional private car charter regularly stops at Savannah. It lies on the Silver Star and Meteor routes and serves as the southern endpoint of the Palmetto route.
The Silver Star line splits into the Palmetto and Silver Meteor routes north of Savannah. The Palmetto and Silver Meteor continue closer to the coast to serve Florence and Charleston, South Carolina. The Silver Star heads inland to serve Columbia, South Carolina, and Cary and Raleigh, North Carolina.
Ticketing, luggage check-in, Amtrak Express shipping, and other shipping options are available at the terminal. It also has a subway-like tunnel for pedestrians.
